The Silicone Story

Thai fashion designer Ek Thongprasert has established a Belgian-based jewellery brand with his friend and jewellery designer Noon Passama. They firstly met each other in Thailand back in year 2000, when both of them were doing their first degrees in Chulalongkorn University. After the graduation, Passama joined Gerry Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, renowned Dutch academy for fine arts and contemporary jewellery. Ek Thongprasert continued to explore the world of fashion the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp, which is one of the most famous fashion schools in the world (ranked 4th in Top 50) and has a weighty list of world famous alumni(Dries Van Noten, Martin Margiela, Peter Pilotto).

The splendour of Ek Thongprasert’s statement jewellery is a result of a unique fusion of contemporary materials and graphic forms with some seriously vibrant colours. Striking design and strong approach toward the conceptual aspect reveals the brand’s signature.

Ek Thongprasert reinvents heirloom silhouettes in candy-coloured silicone for an avant-gardist twist on tradition.

I believe there is no better way to express the philosophy of the brand than to quote designer’s own words:

“Ek Thongprasert focus on a customer who knows how to appreciate unique and timeless products which the value is transmitted not only through high quality self-developed material sophisticated handcraft and production technique but also essentially through the individual philosophy and conceptual aspect behind Ek Thongprasert’s collection.”

Russian gorgeous fashionista Natasha Goldenberg (founder of Tzipporah) and adorable Jamaica-born blogger Tamu McPherson are definitely amongst those who know how to appreciate the modern masterpiece.

With love,
Maria ❤
